On March 9, 2026, “Maronite priest” Pierre El-Rahi was killed allegedly by an Israeli artillery tank in Qlayaa in southern Lebanon. This is what Catholics need to know about this event:

Pierre El-Rahi was not a Catholic priest
Pierre El-Rahi was in communion with the Vatican II Counter-Church, the prophesied great harlot in the end times. He, therefore, was a member of the heretical Vatican II Church, not the Holy Catholic Church. He was not Catholic, regardless of how he might have labelled himself. He was a priest of the great harlot, not of God. Catholics are forbidden to pray for deceased non-Catholics such as El-Rahi, as the souls of non-Catholics are condemned directly to hell after death, with absolutely no possibility of salvation. His death was indeed a tragic event. We would wish him to repent and convert to true Catholicism before death, but we also humbly accept the will of God.
El-Rahi chose to stay in a Hezbollah-infested region despite Israeli army evacuation warnings
Allegedly, the Israeli tank that struck El-Rahi was targeting one of the Hezbollah strongholds commonly found in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military has issued evacuation orders, which El-Rahi and many local residents refused to obey. In doing so, El-Rahi had chosen to accept all the risks of living in an active war zone infested with the fighters and strongholds of Hezbollah, a terrorist proxy of Iran.
Catholics should indeed not be encouraged to flee from all dangerous situations. During the lockdown and anti-lockdown protests in China in year 2022, missionaries of Haus Jakob also chose to stay in China, despite warnings against doing so. We stayed to shepherd the pusillus grex of our beloved Lord amid the political turmoil. Should a war break out one day in China, our missionaries will once again stay in China. We will keep shepherding our Lord’s flock and fight alongside the just against the unjust until our last breath.
However, the question surrounding El-Rahi and his stay in Qlayaa is: Was he actively supporting and encouraging his congregation to support Israel, as a Catholic should have done, or was he indifferent, pretending to be neutral, or even sided with the Muhammadan terrorists of Hezbollah? If El-Rahi was an active supporter of Israel and the war on terror, his death would be a regrettable incident of friendly fire, an accidental tragedy which would not have happened in the absence of Hezbollah and other proxies of Iran. Israel is currently fighting to bring peace to the region, so innocent people will no longer have to die from military conflicts. If El-Rahi did not actively support Israel and the war on terror, it would make him a legitimate military target, according to Catholicism, as El-Rahi would be accessory to the sins of Hezbollah terrorists by silence at least, if not also by consent and concealment, among other ways one can be accessory to the sins of others.
Conclusion
There are still many unclear aspects of the life and death of Pierre El-Rahi. This blog is written based on the best information we have managed to acquire, on both the event itself and the Catholic doctrines relevant to it. We will keep this page updated should any more essential details be revealed.
