Alma Redemptóris Mater, quæ pérvia cœli, porta manes, et stella maris, succúrre cadénti, súrgere qui curat, pópulo: tu quæ genuísti, natúra miránte, tuum sanctum Genitórem: virgo prius ac postérius, Gabriélis ab ore sumens illud Ave, peccatórum miserére.

Mother of Christ! Hear thou thy people’s cry, Star of the deep, and portal of the sky! Mother of Him Who thee from nothing made, sinking we strive and call to thee for aid; Oh, by that joy which Gabriel brought to thee, thou Virgin first and last, let us thy mercy see.

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an Angel, may, by His Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.

O God, Who, by the fruitful virginity of blessed Mary, hast given to mankind the rewards of eternal salvation; grant, we beseech Thee, that we may experience her intercession for us, through whom we have deserved to receive the Author of life, our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.

Ave, Regína Cœlórum! Ave, Dómina Angelórum! Salve radix, salve porta, ex qua mundo lux est orta. Gaude, Virgo gloriósa, super omnes speciósa. Vale, o valde decóra. Et pro nobis Christum exóra.

Hail, O Queen of heaven enthroned! Hail, by Angels mistress own’d! Root of Jesse, gate of morn, whence the world’s true Light was born. Glorious Virgin, joy to thee, loveliest whom in heaven they see, fairest thou where all are fair! Plead with Christ our sins to spare.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy; hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Almighty, everlasting God, Who, by the cooperation of the Holy Ghost, didst prepare the body and soul of Mary, glorious Virgin and Mother, to become a worthy habitation for Thy Son; grant that we may be delivered from present evils and from everlasting death by the gracious intercession of her in whose commemoration we rejoice.
