在全世界，對農曆新年，或者叫中國新年或春節的慶祝越來越普遍了，在那些沒有東方血統的天主教友中間也是如此。一些人會說，農曆新年不過是慶祝一個農曆年的開始。而且，對農曆年的慶祝可以基督教化，可以作為一個基督教瞻禮來慶祝。作為一個在中國工作的天主教傳教士和應用人類學家，在又一個農曆年即將到來之際，我有必要在這裏解釋一下為什麼領過洗的天主教友不可以慶祝農曆新年。
Sub tuum præsídium confúgimus, sancta Dei Génitrix: nostras deprecatiónes ne despícias in necessitátibus, sed a perículis cunctis líbera nos semper, Virgo gloriósa et benedícta!
